Training a high energy golden retriever continues as we progress through this dog training series with Cedar! Today we continue to work on heel work, remote sit, and getting past distractions as we bring Bella along as a major distraction.
I grew up with Goldens and love them. It’s been a while since I’ve owned one but having one around again feels good, even if it’s just for a little while.
This high energy golden retriever puppy belongs to my parents and they have been struggling with her obedience. She is a family dog and needs the same foundation that every dog I plan to hunt in the field with needs. My Mom and Dad asked if I would spend a little time with her and see if we could help them get her back on track. She is very young, full of puppy, quite bold, high energy, and simply needs to earn and show respect to whoever is on the other end of the lead.
We continue to make progress every day as we change this high energy golden retrievers culture, and life.
